January 29, 2015 (A continuation) – I’ve already rested my feet and quenched my thirst at Kamong Café now I’m off to COEX Artium for the SM Town Exhibit. I’m really looking forward to this next destination as it was newly opened and of course it’s SM Entertainment (Two of my bias groups – EXO and SHINee – are from SM Entertainment so my feels were overflowing). The grand opening of the SM Town Place was last January 13, 2015 and I don’t know if it’ll be a permanent part of COEX or it’s just a temporary exhibition. So I didn’t pass up the chance to visit (who knows until when it’s going to be opened). By the way, there’s no entrance fee for this.
How to get there you ask? It’s pretty simple!
– Find your way to Samseong Station (Line 2; Green Line)
– Once you got off Samseong Station, Find EXIT 6
(Exit 6 of Samseong Station is closer to where SM TOWN Heaven is 😉
Once you manage to get out of Exit 6, you’ll easily SM TOWN exhibit and all its glory…you can just imagine my heart beating fast at this sight but sadly I need to contain my feels cause I’m alone. I don’t want people to look at me weirdly.
The sight was amazing! My soul – not my physical self – was jumping up and down when I stood in front this—take note, this is just the entrance!
EXO-Ls…don’t count… it’ll break your hearts T_T
2 of my bias’ group’s name in one post – I was screaming! Props to the designer … exercising our Sherlock eyes on this little designs just to find our favorite group’s name. Lovin’ the concept.
NOW ENTERING MY HEAVEN…
The Exhibition has 6 Floors in Total:
1st Floor – Welcome Stage – Where the entrance was
2nd Floor – SUM (Merchandise shop: you can buy official goods of your favorite artists like t-shirts, bags, stationaries, and even dog clothes)
3rd Floor – SM Town Studio.
4th Floor – SM Town LIVErary – It’s a café where you can buy foods and lounge around while listening to SM artists in the background.
5th Floor – SM Town Theatre – Where the Hologram Theatre is (unfortunately there’s no showing that day)
6th Floor – SM Theatre – where you can have a 3D Print out
Now, let’s go inside!!!
From the entrance, I was awed by the sight of what’s above me:
Are these Atoms and Molecules? SM getting all science-sy and what-not
Sight and Hearing Senses overload – music videos play on wall monitors placed strategically in different places of the exhibit.
Infinite’s video on various screens (There was a merger thing with SME and infinite’s company last August 2013)
Going up the escalator – RED VELVET ❤
First up: SUM (2nd floor) – Official Merchandise Shop
Before entering the shop, there are wallpapers of your favorite SM idols where you can take pictures with (if you cannot see them in person, this is the next best thing lols:
SUJU and GG will welcome you
My dear SHINee 🙂
Key oppa!!! — I’m channeling my inner Arisa Yagi – (Key’s wife in We Got Married Global Edition)
The legends: TVXQ – showcase of their costumes worn in their music video
Now, let’s go inside the SUM shop (at this point I’m wishing that I have a huge sum of money in my wallet ‘cause I want to buy all of the merchandise here) …
Name Initial Stamps of EXO Members. Stamp all you want in your stationaries, notebooks and even your body parts — it’s free. Just don’t take the stamps home.
# Sweatshirts and t-shirts with song titles… what a simple way to let everyone know what kpop song from SM you like
and I like this in particular ❤ of course it’s SHINee and I like “Dream Girl”
Shinee Stationaries, Posters, Towels … I need money!
This could fill-up your cap collection
They also sell scented candles. They were picked by the idols themselves. This one was picked by Key – “Peppermint” scent – it’s smells good out of the bunch, to be honest.
These shades were worn by Lay and Tao. If only I have 270,000 won or 10,715 Php 😦
Random signatures of the boys.
You can purchase humungous posters as well.
I’m proud of you my precious unicorn ❤ – displayed page of EXO concert album
These bags are simple yet pretty 🙂
Next stop: SM Town Studio at the 3rd floor – Where you can do your hair and make-up, pictorial, record, shoot a music video like an idol. Unfortunately it was fully booked so I wasn’t able to try it. I just took photos and hanged around:
Framed pictures of your favorite SME idol.
And another wall of pictures.
Can’t get enough of their pictures? Here’s more! A floor to ceiling display of little pictures of your fave SME idols.
I’m overwhelmed with these pictures!
The amount of trophies and awards that SM artists garnered was no joke. A whole stretch of trophies was on display.
I was sad when I saw this notice . I was actually looking forward to try this no matter what the cost is… maybe next time
Feels like at any moment an idol would pass through this glass doors.
On to the next floor: SM Town LIVErary – the café area
Before going inside the café you’ll be able to see the displays of Girl’s Generation costumes worn in their music videos:
My most favorite costume out of all (since I’m a nurse by profession). Wish we could have a scrub suit like this. Lols.
More wall pictures ❤
Before entering the café, Prince Junmyeon/Suho will welcome you:
Woah there Suho! You look dashing!
Wax figure — Close enough!
The café also serves as a Gallery:
Table decorated with pictures and boxes with some idols’ faces 🙂
Record albums of SME artists are on display. A unique way to showcase their works.
Spot your favorite album/s!
Where can I buy this light fixture?
The SM Town History – Starting from Lee Soo Man managing the company.
Continuation of the SM Town History…
At the far end of the café, it is decorated with fandom-colored bottles and other knick-knacks. – These are not for sale…
Merely for decoration only.
SHINee – pearlescent blue ❤
EXO – if I’m not mistaken, no official fandom color yet.
A café wouldn’t be complete without foods and drinks:
Bottled drinks for sale.
Candies packed in a cute jar ❤ Jelly Mix costs 8,000 won or 317 Php. EXO candy mix costs 11,000 won or 436 Php. And the SM Town candy mix costs 23,000 or 912 Php. Maybe all of the SM artists’ logos are included in the candy that’s why it’s more expensive.
This macaroons looks delicious! A feast for the eye.
This cute cap cupcakes are too precious that you won’t want to eat them. It costs 8,000 won or 317. And as expected, EXO cupcakes were sold out.
Too cute ❤ I wonder how a SHINee CAP Sweet Pumpkin cupcake would taste like?
Hard to resist Ice creams — with your fave idol group’s name!
This ice cream costs 6,000 won each or 238 Php. If I would be buying SHINee and EXO ice cream it would cost me 476 Php – as much as I wanted to I didn’t. Maybe next time. Plus its freaking cold, I wanted to drink a hot beverage instead.
I would be more than happy to receive this cake on my birthday ~~
One cake costs 18,000 won or 714 Php – for the love of EXO and SHINee, I would come back for this.
There are still few merchandises that you can buy in case you forgot to purchase them from SUM:
SM Artist’s Official 2015 Calendars.
Music Albums 🙂
Random merchandises. (If only I have lots of money…tsk tsk tsk)
On a small corner near the merchandise tables, the remnants of the BWCW pop up store where EXO was the endorser (the store was located around Garosugil— and it closed down last February 2014):
The locker that they vandalized was still there.
Then there’s Kris’ locker 😥
Kai’s locker. KaiSoo’s lockers are beside each other!!! Wooohooo ❤
If I’m not mistaken, this is Baekhyun’s
Tao’s locker 🙂
Luhan’s locker T_T (there are still reminders of the 2… and I’m happy that it’s still there)
Last floor that I went to was the 5th floor/ SM Town Theatre. You can watch the Hologram Theatre (unfortunately there was no showing that day — what a waste) and a community hall interactive amusement where you can take pictures with the seemingly real SM artists decorated on a wall.
Though the SMTOWN Hologram Theatre was opened from December 13th until February 16th only.
Big movie posters displayed – Xiumin looks so handsome!
Junmyeon you look so different here.
Key Oppa! I know you did a great job in this project given the experiences that you had with theatre acting – so proud of you!
Woah there Xiumin … you look so manly here ❤
What a nice movie poster!
Entrance to the theatre. Really unfortunate that I wasn’t able to watch the hologram movie.
While I was walking around the area, sulking, I was soothed by Kyuhyun’s voice in the background. There was this 3 large screens playing his video. Really, Wow!
Who wouldn’t be soothed by his voice?
Then I turned into a corner and found the Community Hall Interactive Amusement: Though they are only wall decorations, they seem real:
Lay, why are you doing this to me
Hi there Key oppa! See~ they look real.
You’re giving me flowers Mr. Zhang? You’re making me blush — being the ambitious girl that I am.
In another corner, there are lots of large posters of the SM artists where you can skim through:
Key oppa! You’re so pretty!
Leader Onew… you look so HANDSOME!
In addition, this floor has a photo booth where it’s as if you’re taking a picture with your favorite idol (whole body). Didn’t try it though because I was so tired already and I look like a waste. 🙂
That ends my SM Town @ COEX Artium trip. Hope you had fun with me and that you’ll pay it a visit someday while it’s still open.
